it's a 1275A+ with uk carbs rover ones i think.

i can either put a t piece into the bung on the carby with both breathers??

or bung onto the carby the other with a breather filter on it..

i have been told these are pollution carbys? and i should put both breathers into the gold holes either side between if i like also..

whats the best way to go?

check out pic click on image to make it bigger :)

thanks for your help!

Yeah, if you have 2x engine breathers then you can fit one of them to one carby,,, & the other to the other carby

easy-peasy

edit--> oh & you`ll want a "breathing" type oil filler cap with that lot too

Hi NG,

Yeah I see where matt's going there, not a bad idea :) send one breather to each carbie... pretty simple,,

Here's how I do it having a quick looky at your picture,,,,

It looks like you will need a breather cap. Reason being that air needs to be drawn down through your rocker cover. On older style set ups they had a separate take off on the rocker cover that had a valve on it which was linked to the manifold,,, but yours being an alloy cover probably won’t have that,, so you will need a breath cap to let the air in. You can pick them as they stand taller than a standard cap by about half an inch. The part number for the genuine breather cap is 13H2296EVA and should cost you about $15 -20.00.

Now I can’t see your whole engine bay very well, but it looks like you have 1 large hose which is at least headed in the direction of your crank case breather.. It looks like that one is for your brake booster if you have one,, if you do not have a brake booster plug it.

Now, if you look at the two carbies there is a brass pipe comining off each of them 5/16” in diameter, about 1” long and pointing up at an angle of 45 degrees, from each of these attach a section of hose about 3” long. Now place one branch of the Y piece in one hose and the other branch in the other hose. What you will have now is both carbies connected together at this Y piece in a triangle with one remaining branch pointing straight up in the air.

From that remaining branch attach a length of hose directly to your crank case breather, the one on either your timing cover or above your clutch housing.

Now, on your left hand carbie, on the side, there is another brass pipe about 1/8 “ in diameter. If you are not running a vac advance on you dizzy, block off this pipe.

Does this answer your question or help?

Sorrryyyyyy Just remembered  :)

Ok being a 1275 A+ it will have a breather on the timing chain cover and one on the clutch cover....

If yours is like this,,, you will need a "X" piece,, not a "Y",, so that you can have an additional hose for the other breather....

All good? :)

8) thats a better photo

So its a rover yeah?

I will say this right now before I get stoned to death,, I have not had a huge amount of experience with the rovers,, but if the breath set up did not change any from the last mokes or the early metro's...

You do have the Hose from the manifold going to the brake booster, tops :)

Now if you reffer to the long post I put up there it is still the same... Did it make sense? Or did it just look like a mad womans sh1t... :?

It does still have a crankcase breather on the timing chain cover right? and one on the clutch cover?

BTW ... (you do know that your left hand carbie is loose right?)....

can you figure it out? I swear this guys is phucking with my head on purpose

Just kidding NG :) No I'm not sure what your talking bout there with the "2 breather's one each side clutch & old mate to the right lol.. timing cover maybe?".... I have only ever seen them with one on the clutch housing and one on the timing cover... I wonder if

a) its a late A+ anomaly

b) if you have by some chance screwed one breather to the clutch housing and one to the hole ing the clutch cover that you use for checking the timing?

Sorry budy,,, you've got me bambozalled

yes i have confused my self

so one is on the timing cover one on the clutch housing like all standard 1275 A+"s

i think one into each carby in regards to what matt has said originally will be right.

Yep Matt's Idea is very simple, and the difference in running is preeeety small and impossible to notice (i think)...

just remember to plug the other pipe on your LH carbie I mentioned,, the one for the vac advance.
