Post subject:  Fuel sender?

ok a while ago i bought nice new shiny gauges for the mini. went back and got the senders for them later. all was good but i thought that the fuel sender looked a bit odd to go in a mini tank but the guy told me it was for a side mounting tank so i take it anyway...
about a week ago i got around to fitting it only to find it is very very wrong the arm comes out of the resistor unit thing from totally the wrong way so i take it back. i explain whats wrong and what does he tell me to do "bend it" so i say "no this would make it very inaccurate". so at the moment i am trying to get my money back but am waiting to speak to the owner. the pleb i dealt with reckons they cant take it back but thats another story.. so has anyone got a gauge the same as this and if so can you tell me where to get the proper sender or do i in fact have to "bend" or "modify" the sender they gave me?

thanks alot

It does look like the same as Morris..
I think it is packed straight for shipping purposes  and the crude Digram re-enforces it...I THINK you would bend it before the coneections I can have a look once the fule is down :?

Consumer protection laws mean it has to be "Fit for purpose". Unless it's for a very early mini with the screw mounting it probably won't seal any way even if you do bend it. Later Mini tank senders use a rubber seal and a tapered locking ring. Not a good move to bend it as then they can say you damaged it and you won't be able to take it back.
