Hey.

now my Traveler has no hole for a speedo cable..

do i make drill a hole? then put some sort of rubber around it.. it's a click on speedo cable as i have a later dash put 'original one away"

seems off to have to drill a big hole can the speedo cable come apart at one end maybe? to get the grey end part through.

I put on of that original cover plate firewall* in the space where the speedo would sit

so u have one hole for the wire loom but no other holes.

am i missing something?

thank you.

What exactly are you trying to do?

Run the cable from the cabin to the engine bay?
If that's the case, i believe there isa gromit on the passenger side in the firewall.

Not sure if that's what you're asking however..

new engine.

speedo cable connected to engine needs to go into cabin through firewall into dash.

can not see hole in fire wall to connect to dash :)

lost!

Try pulling the carpet (assuming you have it) from your firewall inside the engine bay.

On the passenger side about 300mm in, there should be a rubber gromit. If not, check the drivers side.

That's where my passage from engine bay to cabin is

It sounds a bit like you've gone from the 'traditional' centre speedo to the newer one, that sits in from of the driver?

If that is the case, then yes, you will need to put a hole through the fire wall. From memory, it needs to be 20 mm diameter (so that you can get the cable end through). Use a 'blanking' gromet and punch about 7mm hole in the centre of that to make a seal.

The hole is located to the right of the clutch master cylinder, when looking at the firewall from the engine bay.

[EDIT] sorry, check the hole diameter, it's 25mm (1").
