Now, I am thinking that the figure of 50.8kg is a bit heavy for the auto box because I can lift the auto box easily, so I assume the stated weight includes the torque converter and maybe the oil.

Actually years ago my dad had a wooden box a lot like a tea chest only bigger and it was labeled...

Josh at Miniimports has a NOS manual box in a wooden box....at least he did 12 months ago. It would make an interesting enough seat in the shed....
