so i need a new choke cable at the moment and here i was think ing about 20- 30 dollars. didn't realise they're like 70 bucks. are there any other options / alternatives to the ones at minisport, like maybe just a normal one from a auto store that would fit and work fine in the mini.
if not no worries, i guess i'll just cough it up. however, i though t i'd just throw it out there and see if theres another answer.

Early Dattos and toyotas have a similar set up , have a scrounge at your local wreckers, if you get stuck i may have one in a box here somewhere

The 'retail' (what ever that means!) price for a Clubman T type Choke Cable is $22.00. The one with the Cooper S 'Tax' is $16.00.

I'm in the wrong business !!

Try Michael at Mini-Suzuki in Seven Hills or John at Mini King.

i've got a 10 dollar supercrap universal one. works fine. doesn't look out of place.

the minisport ones are for concourse show cars ie the original replica type one.

grab any old choke cable that's got a knob that appeals to you and fits your car.
