well not seams exactly but this is a first ive ever seen it happen.. on my van i notice yesterday a crack that has started from the bottom of the passenger side under the back door.. and has worked its way around to the bumper travelled towards the side of the van and soft..... this has obviously made that side of the van weak and u can literally move where the door bolts too around... this would be a simple fix with some welding, but i want to know what would of caused this to begin with.... the same thing is forming on the other side aswell.... there are no signs of rust aswell.. pics to follow soon. |

My first van had that problem, i think it was rust at floor level. One side was BAD and the other side was just bad. You could grab the back corners of the roof and flex the whole car ![]() Sadly it was a scrapper, i smashed the front and gutted it for parts ![]() |

It's all ok, metal is repairable. If you don't have the skills/tools then someone will be able to help ![]() |

The rust wouldnt have to be near the crack. If the rust is elsewhere near a structuraly rigid point and this becomes flexible as a result, then the flexing may cause a new problem elsewhere. Vans commonly rust in that area, so if the steel is thinner than original or previously repaired incorrectly, then a crack is possible. |
