Sounds like you've got an 'intermix' between the 'live' wiring and the 'switched' wiring.

The 'live' stuff (If it's original) will be Brown (maybe with a trace) or Purple (may also be with a trace).

The 'switched' will be white (maybe with a trace) or green (maybe with a trace). I'd suggest having a good look at your fuse block first. Also check that there's nothing shorting between the fuses or the wires on the end.

Could also be your ignition switch, or something shorting on the back of that.

You may need to one by one start un-plugging some connectors until you find the 'dicky' one.

Have you got a lamp or meter you can use for some testing?

Take it to minifest anyways....When you need to turn the engine off just pull the white wire with the red trace off the solenoid and then turn the ignition switch off. Someone there may be able to rectify or trace the problem.

........Or maybe the white one off the coil

(Sorry Ballistic - White / Red is the one for the solinoid coil to start it with)

If you can get it to Minifest I'd be happy to have a look at it for you there, but I'm flat out trying to get my Traveller going so can't help much before. Send me a PM if you haven't got it worked out.

cheers
Tim

im having to double pump or triple pump the clutch to get it in gear.
also ticking coming from i think alt belt to tight,
but thats easy fixed.
other than that no dash lights and brakes suck cuz i got new front disks but using standard old master cylinder

That shouldn't matter, unless the old m/c is no good. There shouldn't be any problem in using the m/c off a '76 drum braked car with disks.
