Anybody else found a solid chunk of casting sand floating around your sump?

This lump was about the size 50 cent piece and about 1 cm high.

You think after nearly 40 years it would have fallen off before now. I had the sump off last year and all was well.

I pulled the gb housing/sump off because something was blocking oil plug so it wouldnt drain correctly and there it was wedged again the side.

Not fall out like that - but I had to dig out quite a lot from the clutch end rear side of the block - and between 3 and 4 - no wonder the PO had an overheating problem :roll:
