Not sure if this question has been asked, but I would love to know what people have found in the cars when they have pulled them apart during restoration. I found an old RAA card in the previous owners grandpa name on it tucked up under the dash. Helped me track down history of the car. ![]() Cheers Nat |

I was once stripping a Mini and when I pulled the back seats out I found an 18C Gold pendant.... No one claimed it ! Car was saved from the Crush any way. I bought it from a scrap merchant. Pendant was worth much more than what I paid for the car thank you very much. Finders Keepers Loosers weepers case. |

About 20 years ago I had a Mini Brought to me by a Car Yard as they wanted the Dash lights repaired for RWC. As I removed the Dash Card on the Right side I spotted a very old Yellowed looking Piece of paper screwed up in there which ended up being an envelope that someone had hidden many years before. It contained 16 Fiftty Dollar Notes. Geee we had a great night at the pub that day ! |

Not in a car, but while demolishing the old chook shed at the back of our place shortly after we bought it, I discovered a glass jar with about $2500 in paper notes stashed behind the chopping block ![]() |

10 Cigarette lighters in a Datsun 1200, inside the defroster ducting. Previous owner was a smoker and kept their lighter on the dash - as soon as they went round a corner the lighters must have slid down the defroster outlets and collected in the ducting. Still using the lighters for heatshrinking and other miscellaneous jobs in the garage! |

Not a mini, but a customer came in complaining his cd player would not work in his near new car. Found his kids had jammed about $2 of loose change and a VERY coarse sanding disc in there which was almost exactly the same size as a cd..... Pulled them out and it still worked! (suprisingly!) |

My Corona Coupe arrived from Japan with: - Several used cigarettes in the ashtray. - A lace doily thingie over the rear seat back. - Several cigarette lighters, yen coins and parking tickets under the seats and carpet - A man's belt and a few drawing pins behind the rear seat back. So much for cleaning fees and customs inspections! ![]() |
