Suitable to get a Mini up onto a trailer or low truck?


Says rated to 680Kg (as pair) and the length is such that it is almost the same as the wheel base so the whole car won't be on it in one

Certainly a lot better than driving up on two old wooden planks.

Would the 680kg limit be cutting it fine ? Be fine for a resto job prior to starting, but a decent car ?

Youve got a minimum of like 650kg for the car, then whatever the driver weighs unless you push it on.

Theyre great, i have the exact same ramps here, i use em for the motorbikes, 500cc quad bike,Husqvarna rideon (bigun) and i used them on a recent mini rescue mission, due to the trailer i have has no ramps on it. They work well and are well worth the money

Thats why I was pointing out they are the same length as the wheel base - when the whole car is on the ramp the wheels are sitting at the very start and finish of the ramp - at other times they are not supporting the whole weight as 2 wheels will be off either end

Ah, of course. Probably a wise investment then, as I have always had a mini that ends up on a trailer at some stage

One of the things to take into consideration is the length of the ramps and the angle they create at the fulcrum or pivot point. Too short and the car will bottom out going onto the trailer.

This means you are forever scraping the exhaust, sills and possibly brake lines. The alternative is constantly seeking out an incline or raised area when you want to load or unload the mini onto the trailer.

Point noted Mike - future use will be mainly onto a low trailer . Immediate use is to get the Mini onto a 3 tonne Pantec to move it up to Noosa - buy the time the truck is backed into our steep drive-way the ramps will all most be downhill

NOTE to all those people who offered a trailer - no longer required - decided the Pantec will move most of the garage
