hi,

Ive been trying to my car going for a little while now and cant seem to.

Its getting plenty of fuel but doesnt seem to be getting a spark. I was wondering how do i check for a spark? The car has ran before but i cant seem to get it going again.

Blake..you can pull a plug, connect it back to its lead and earth it by tieing it to anything metal somewhere convenient on the block with some stiff bare wire.

(I used to just hold them up against the block with bare hands but I found that you can get a mild shock that way and I'm worried about my old heart these days!!)...you can use some cloth or gloves I suppose.

Then...make sure you are in nuetral and wheels chocked...then crank the engine using the remote starter or have an assistant turn the key and watch for a spark across the gap...in a dim area is best. Repeat for all the plugs if you wish...

if you have bulb type test light you can determine if the dizzy is triggering the coil by connecting one end of the test light to the negtive side of the coil and the other end to earth of the engine, crank the engine and see if the light stars to flick on and off.than take it from there
