Pulled the head off my 1275 & the pistons have stamped on them

1253 + 1.524 Inderstand that the 1.524 is 60thou over but what does the 1253 stand for. They are dished pistons.[/b]

Pistons are Hepolite 21253 probably.
These are 9.75:1 C/R (actually a bit more in early blocks).
They are more expensive than the 21251 (8.8:1), but are a stronger piston.

Ring widths in these pistons are metric, which is a pity- the original rings are expensive and there are no or few alternative suppliers.
