Post subject:  Dashboard and gauges? (clubman)?
Hi there,this is my first topic post so please be a bit leanient of my forum knowledge!! :shock:
i am wanting to make a pieroid style dash. I have done a search through the forum and ive noticed that dashes that people have made(clubman)are usually flat or flush with both the dash pads.By looking at my 3 gauge cluster it sits(angled) far out infront of the top and lower dash pads.
How have people mounted thier standard clubman gauges to the dash(considering the dashboard sits flat) :?:
Any pictures of these mountings or suggestions of making a dash would be greatly appriciated. :D :D Cheers

Just pull off the plastic guage surround, from memory it just clips on

ok mate thanks.Do you rekon it would be just easier to make brackets and mount the whole plactic gauge support to the dash??

So dude what vintage is this vehicle thats about to get a chopped and channeled dash and Glass sliding door latches( not too sure on that one)

Hi Jordy,

Welcome to ausmini... this is a great place with a wealth of knowledge.
The people here have years of experience with minis and you will be able to learn a lot from them.

However, you will also find a great deal of 'personalities' who you might or might not get along with (just like the real world).

minimax was in no way having a go at you, he was just wondering what you were planning as you haven't really introduced yourself or your car.

oh, and I should mention. There are some people here who believe an original car is the be all and end all, and some who believe that a modded car is the best. Personally I love period styled cars, and that it is ok to mod a car that has already been altered.

ohh yes and i quite agree on keeping it period styled.Cant stand to see some of those great classic cars being modded and destroyed"in my opionion".Anyway everybody likes there own style and we shoul all respect that (eg: only talk about the when we get home behind closed doors haha.lol)

ok well i have had a 76clubman for a 12months now and its just run out of rego.I have fitted a extractors and a nice exhaut and it nounds how a A-series sould.
My plan was always to restore it to a classic style, but i 2 months ago i just found out it full of rust.
So i brought a striped down 73 clubman and hopfully i can start welding in some missing panels and get it ready to paint these school holidays.
i have started to rebuild a 1098 engine and it now 1052 (1098 +60)with a very mild cam and a little head work done.I am aming for i good runaround in a very classic inspired resto.
I am planning on doing all the work myself with guidence from my grandpa.
As you might not of guesed iam only 15 ATM.My grandpa used to own his own mechanical shop and all his knowledege has been pased on to me.
UMM HOW DO I ADD PICS (iam not to good with computers)

Mate you'll fit in well here :lol: Lots of us (myself included) learnt about cars from our parents (or grandparents) so there is always that kinda of family fuzziness going on (well that and some other stuff,,, dark, creepy, mysterious and sick stuff that will make you question reality as you know it! :shock: )... but mostly people here are pretty cool and love guys like yourself willing to get your hands dirty and have a go. So welcome a board :)

Posting pictures aye... well, you can't post them directly from your own files (pain in the arse I know), so you'll need to set up a photobucket account that you can save your photos to. Then, copy and paste the "direct link" into your post. Just hit the "Img" icon before and after the direct link (it should read like this Image thats what you'll see before you post it). Otherwise there is a "how to" on it if I am not making sense
