Now even I know its abnormal to park like this... but it looks early in some ways.... but not in others? ![]() ![]() ![]() Ive had an imported austin before...but it had different 'Slits' in the roof channels....?? Help I.D this sucker please! Cheers in advance Cam ![]() |

Early Australian assembled CKD 850 , the roof slits like that are the UK type and the body was pressed in the UK but assembled here from a Complete Knock Down kit . Without starting the other computer to check the numbers I'd say first 1/2 of 1961 built . Very cool , is it in your yard now or still where you saw it ? |

Ahh ok, yep definately a find... was in an old unused tip on an old farm... gunna be interesting to get it out without doing more damage... as there has been some earthworks done since it was put there... some 18yrs ago? More pics to come this satrday as I drag it home! |

While you`re there, check the ignition switch panel & see if it`s flat--> IE: no recesses for the switches nice one, well done, give it to me ![]() |

it's a bit hard to tell from the pics, but the rear windows look like they have the very early type of catch ,thinner[width of the arm] than later type. check the door hinges and see if the pin that it pivots on has a domed head on top. If they have ,have a scratch at the paint to see if they are brass. Another thing is the rear arms either cast type or pressed halves welded together. If it has the speedo housing, is it black. if so it could be a early pressed cardboard type |

It will be interesting to see if it still has the original donk. Mate, you realise of course when you replace those rusty rivets on the compliance plate your warranty will be buggered. ![]() |
