i have a Leyland mini EPAI 998 although has an 1100 now but i was wondering what models had the 3 clock speedo as standard as mine has a 3 clock speedo with the tacho wire built in the original wiring harness did mine come with the 3 clock speedo or do all models have that extra wire? |

common guys this is easy, can no one answer this question purely because its about a clubman????????? benny, the three guage dash came out in mini clubman s mini clubman LS mini clubman SS mini clubman 1275LS mini clubman Sunshine hope that helps! but alot of people put three guage dashes in their clubbys so dont try to identify your car by the speedos, and they would not of had the wire from factory on the 2 guage if they didnt have the tacko with it ![]() |

i beg to differ....many cars came out with a standard loom, and wires that weren't used were just left there. Saves the makers money to mass produce one type of loom. Maybe BMC/Leyland were different and didnt do this. ![]() |

ummm the wiring harness as far as i nkow is connected by that big pplug, if you were going to put the three guage in then youd need to put that blue plastic wire thing on and have the wire that connects teh speedo to the tacho.....i dont think the loom would have much to do with the tacho, it would come down to the plastic thing??? wouldnt it... |

no i dont think the tacho runs through the main plug. there are a few auxilary wires that plug straight into the tacho. maybe, could be...... |

Early Clubbies with the tacho had the coil wiring circuit plugged into 2 banana plugs in back of tacho. The coil current went thru the tacho. Later ones, I have NFI. ![]() |

The wiring harness off any clubman will have the extra wires (2) for the tacho pretty much as Anton said in a previous post. I think it just draws power for the illumination from the plug, the two white(? - one may have a trace colour, blue?, I can't remember) are the ones to connect. They are a male and female connector so it is fairly obvious where they go when you look at the back of the tacho. As chris said, many have been changed over the years so what it has in it now, is not necessarily indicative of what it came out with. |

![]() My '71 clubman had them - someone could have changed the harness of course. All I did was unplug the two white wires that were joined together and plug them onto the respective lugs on the tacho. Easy peezy. |
