If you ignore the front of the car in front of the firewall AND the doors - how can you tell if a body is a clubman body or a roundnose body? |

Ok...making it slightly easier ![]() If you have a bare shell that is early 1970 vintage....what are the differences? My rear lights are the square type but they were common to both I believe. Serious question - I have a feeling that I have a roundnose rear and clubman front ![]() |

except if it is a mk2 or later english body ![]() Would look at the door locks (for burst proof locks), the dash member (for the two protruding tabs that hold the leyland dash panel), and tail ights as said. (If it was english i think from memory the english tail lights are cut slightly different to the aussies clubman style ones and if it was english its identifiable from slots in the gutter rather than holes anyway) Also check the driver side wheel arch whether there is a hole in it or not for the clubman style heater. Hope this helps Brenton |

Front wing and drivers footwell has holes for heater cold air inlet. Dash has tabs for clubman but that section might have been replaced with firewall. It's sort of from the A pillars back ignoring the firewall and dash. My basic problem - Clubman doors don't seem to fit! |

All my hinges look the same ![]() ![]() Regardless, without the hinges, the door seems to touch the bottom of the A pillar with a big gap between the door front edge and the body hinge panel. There is also a big gap between the top of the door and the gutter panel. Doesn't seem to be a simple case of left-right and up-down shuffle. I might sneak round shows with a ruler and see how other clubman doors look.... ![]() |

All 4 door hinges are slightly different and are stamped for their intended locations eg Top Right |

The only one that claimed their car to be a roundie with clubbie tail lights (as original fitment) is nowhere near the end of Mini K productrion. Surely if any did get made this way it would have been the last of them not the middle. So armed with my data I would say, no way hose. Steve |

There was lots of running changes in the bodies over the years and there are a few clues to tell what year the shell is by what holes are where. They changed the seat mounts a couple of times and the rear seatbelt mounts as well as a few changes to the floors and bulkheads. So if you post some pics of the car I am sure that we would be able to tell you what the car is. |

The pillar where the door lock catch is. Under the rear parcel shelf inside the boot. The floor where the seat mounts are. |
