I need a couple of tyres for my standard 3.5" mini rims. There only seems to be the Falken SN807 or Kumho 759 Powerstar available. They are about the same price, so which one is best? |

I used to run the Kumhos on my 998 matic, I thought they were pretty good for a stocko 145 tyre. I've driven on those Falkens in a mate's car, didn't like them as much. |

![]() ![]() Ah, crossplies... the memories! ![]() I agree with 1071 that XAS were the duck's guts. I ran 13" XAS/FFs on the Fiat and they were magic. But, around Oran Pk south circuit I was about a second or more quicker on Avon crossplies (the old Formula Ford rubber). Sticky rubber... ![]() I used to scrub them in for 10,000 miles or so, then the boss would fit to his FF race car. |

It has been well documented that the Monaro that won Bathurst in 1969 was on XAS's when the special racing tyres on the Falcons gave up the ghost. The highest place Falcon was on XAS too. Compared to what else was around in the 60's they were awesome on a Mini. Pete |

No there not avail anymore. I asked Alan at Antique Tyres a while ago and he said NLA, but did say he can get 145/10 Aquajets new, as thet have been remade. The Dunlop B7s pictured are originals, been on the car since new. Owen Peake restored a 997 Cooper a few years back and we hunted around all the wrecks untill we found 5 good B7s for him, we fitted them and the car drove like it had 4 under inflated tyres. Got to love the crossplys tho. ![]() |
