I've been looking thru the previous posts, and have worked out that for a 71 cooper s, the correct carpet is black loop pile.
the westminster style carpet, does this refer to the cut and design of the carpet? or the goat's hair carpet?
so would i be looking for black loop pile westminster? are minisport the only place to get this?
and i have read some members have been making their own from templates, is this working out much less than the 1300 minisport price?
sorry for draggn up this old topic

Check with John Smidt Mini King Sydney as I think he has a contact for Cooper carpets made to factory specs.

The best carpet I found for the Mk 2 is Classic Loop Pile from Knox Auto Carpets in Melbourne.
The loop pile is very similar to original, but the back is a little different for those that lift it up and have a look.

I also have some original heel mats if you are interested.

lol I here I was thinking I might drop in on Ausmini and share the news about how I just sponteneously spending the far side of $400 on Dynamat, felt and loop pile carpet as well as going the extra "wife detesting" mile of buying fitted matts too from Trufit carpets, and someone's beaten me to talking about the subject!

I shall be busy next weekend! Let you all know how it goes. The Dynamat stuff looks awesome and will do well to sound deaden the firewall abit.

Sorry to hijack the thread.
