Post subject:  Rear competition bump stops for hydro

In regards to my 68 deluxe, with hydro;

In addition to fitting the shocks on the front and adjustable tie rods and bottom arms, I also will be fitting rear competition bump stops on the rear. 8) 8)

Does anyone here know if the different sets available from the different suppliers are much different or are they all pretty near the same?

I have also heard they are a nightmare to fit the rubbers to the brackets? What have other people experienced with this, and do you have any tips for me?

Cheers
Matt

AFAIK there is only 1 kit for these- C-AJJ3313

Fitting to the brackets is easy-
1. put bracket in vyce
2. put dish soap around hole in rubber & on pin.
3. use a flat screwdriver to start the rubber over the headed pin.

I wouldn't bother with front ones for a road car. Too freakin' high, you will have lots of pos camber.

This would be the part number from Karcraft I presume?

Have you used these yourself?

Thanks for the tip!

yes (also is BL p/no) and yes, I've had them on for 3 years or so. Handles real well. Ride in rear is a bit sharp until they settle in.

When you fit them, watch the inner guard doesn't cut them, you need to bend it out just a bit to clear.

I've got them on my 68 deluxe (how many 68 deluxe's are there?!?) on the doc's advice and they're quite nice.

Also stop wheels scraping on the arches if you have larger wheels (I have 12's) when you have passengers in the rear.

I have them on our Daily drive Morris, Mini K not a 68 Deluxe
I also put them on the front and she was real nice but was a little sharpe on the rebound on the front. The other weekend I took them out of the front and placed the old one back in. Guess What the front Comps were shot and the rears are still good.
Rides much better now also...Put them on the rear.

I dont have a vice  Yer I know Dr but I put mine in a lip in the concret did the Soap trick but just put a piece of wood ontop and sat on it..POP she's on...Excellent  8)
