Am not looking for a Pulsar dizzy, but what do folks think is the best distributor for a 60 thou over Cooper S motor with 1.5 roller rockers?

Aldon, 123?

Appreciate any advice.

cheers,

Thx Lillee.

Who does re-builds? Can a reasonably competent weekend mechanic do it?Are you talking converting to electronic as well?

That would also be my vote. These use readily avaiable Bosch parts.

The bushings in the stock lucas distributors are re-known for wearing fairly quickly. For this you'll need a lathe to re-bush the distributor body. All other parts you only need normal hand tools.

It's a Pertronix Ignitor II distributor and Flamethrower coil.

http://www.vintageperformance.com/retro ... eries1.htm

Cheaper to buy from there, but yes there is a distributor for these in Oz.

D170600 is what LS1380 and I got. It's the Pertronix II model.
The dizzys are machined in China and assembled in USA (so they say).

I'd get a 0.6 ohm coil to go with it... 45001 is the chrome one.
45011 if you want black.

I sold mine, only because the stroker motor went into storage.
