Post subject:  Camshaft Identification

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone can help identify what camshaft i have exactly, i was given it from an old bloke a year and a bit ago along with cooper s extractors and twin su's.
The only markings i can find on the camshaft are the numbers '140' which are inprinted on the timing gear side or front of it, i was also told it was a race cam, is this true and can it be run for fast road driving, as i want to use it for hillclimbs and normal driving.
If anyone knows anything about this camshaft and is willing to share some information on it (Eg the cam lift, duration, etc.) i would be very grateful.

Cheers
Sav

That would be a Wade 140.
Go to their web site and check the specs.

It`s most probably a "Wade" grind, either from "Wade" or maybe Ivan Tighe, it`s approx 35-75 (ish)

a bit lumpy for a small capacity roady, more of a "Rally" type cam in my books,

it`s quite mild in a 1400-1500cc engine, good mid range in something like that tho

some people classify them as race cams but it`s a baby in comparison to a real race cam

not bad for what you want to do tho

whack it in & have some fun

:-)
