Perhaps 13x7 rims are too large for minis???? Dont get me wrong they look fantastic but if you hook into a corner and give it a bit of a punch it almost feels as its drifting a bit, well my car atleast……..maybe i need some different tyres but i was thinking about it and, maybe the weight of the car just cant be applied forcefully enough over such a large surface area of rubber. Before i was going thinking more surface area equals more traction, now im changing my thoughts???????????

True or not true?

I think you are right, on road rubber at least. Hard to keep that wide patch flat on the road when it leans in corners.
The few road Minis I've driven on 13s all felt tippy-toey in corners compared to 10s, or even 12s.

I like my 10s and A008s...

i had 10's on my mini and it was great now i have 13x7's on lil-ute and its light in the back end but that isnt due to tyre size, it goes into corners pretty good and comes out really well.

with low profile tyres on 13"rims, the rear arms are not changing camber angle with suspension movement, so as the car leans the roll center changes but not camber. The low profile tyres do not have the side wall deflection like 10" and the area on contact to the road is reduced.
