ok its quite simple, i know.
but how exactly have you made a template.Ive made and tried various techiques but everytimes it seems to go wrong
anyway if your up for the challenge giv me the thumbs up on the RIGHT way to do it...

The fail safe way to do it is to get some stiff cardboard and tape a 1 metre bit of mdf, platic rulers, long steel ruler, whatever to help give it some stiffness. place the board into the dash space and trace and cut till the shape is right, then you have a template that can be used to cut the dash from MDF or whatever you want. Generally speaking, the bottom and sides are straight, the top is curved, and the dash also curves slightly into the middle. Some people make them completely flat, but they don't look right from some spots. |
