I have a couple of these cams here which I had ground by Ivan Tighe years ago when I used to race Speedway. They are probably the biggest cam you can use on a single carb engine.
The specs are as follows.
Inlet opens BTDC 37 deg
Inlet closes ABDC 71 deg
Exhaust opens BBDC 70 deg
Exhaust closes ATDC 37 deg
Cam lift is .298"
Needs double springs.
Ivan also made me a 140T which was the same but the two Middle pots had slightly different timings to compensate for the lack of flow into the middle pots. This 140 cam is very lumpy at idle but has a great mid range and top end. I used this cam when I used to race in the "Stock standard" grade. Ivan said that I was cheating at the time. But I was racing against Holden Toranas with 202 engines Centura with 265 Hemi and Cortinas with 4.1L engines . And I did give them a hard time too. God that was great fun those days.
I hope this is enough info.

Thanks alot for the info very helpfull. So it's a good bit of kit then?

So it's a Tighe cam?

Doesnt he race a kick arse escort............ or he double enters one of his clients cars.

If its the guy i think it is he drove in the King Edward Park hill climb here in Newcastle and absoulutly drove the wheels of that escort it was some of the best driving i have seen. And the cosworth motor he had just sounded the best.

That would be Dean, Ivan's son. The escort you're talking about is probably the one owned by Danny Mishock. It is an absolute weapon

Yeah those names sound familiar.

If any one is reading and is familiar with king edward park, this guy had the eski crossed up thru the last sweeper with the back of the car about 3 inches of the gaurd rail!!!! and he didnt back off at all he just buried the throttle and screamed off across the finish line. He was the fastest tin top by far.

He had me in my sti easily covered by about 6 seconds it was brilliant driving.

The Cams I have were re-ground By Ivan Tight himself. These days the Camshaft regrinding business has been handed over to his son Dean. I stell get cams done by Dean when I need them he is very nice and helpful guy too. I just post him a std cam and he grinds it to what I need and he posts it back to me. No running around involved. Tigh Cams has a website too with all cam grinds.
The 140 grind specs are found in the Ford section !
