One of the quickest cars i have ever driven was Roy Miche's turbo pure gas moke  8)

If a car is on gas i think it should be gas only and properly set up for it, eg head work, electronic ignition, turbo...

Mate....Nobody could ever convince me that a conversion like that is
worth the effort on such a small car.
Like the bloke I know who's got gas on his Suzuki Liana. He's got just
enough space in the boot to hold two brief cases and when he goes away
he tows this ugly box trailer as big as his car......where's the economy in
that? He's so proud of himself.

I know of Mini's and Minor's that are on gas. Both dual fuel and straight gas. On all accounts it was worth the effort.

Paying half the cost for fuel means you can go twice as far for the same money. If I was driving further to work I would convert to gas.

I have seen a couple of 1100's on gas.

By the look of this conversion the tank sits well forward in the boot leaving most of the accessable bit alone. So you don't loose that much space, you won't fit a suitcase in there but you can still get the shopping in.

a guy that runs a mechanic's in Moe where i am from has one on gas. He has a round tank in the wheel well from memory. I heard that if you car is all gas and tuned for it that is where the savings are. If its dual fuel its not that good as you use a lot more gas than if tuned especially for it. I could be talking crap though..

is there anything specific to getting an a-series on LPG?

Or is it the same as any other car?

Especially when you consider that in the US of A, the current consumption is around 10,000 gallons a second, 24/7 for 365 days/year.

If I was going to do a gas conversion it would be to CNG instead of LPG. It really is an endless supply.
The downside is you need a bigger tank to hold less gas but the advantage is being able to hook up to your own gas meter.
