Post subject:  clutch ?

i have read all million posts about clutch issues but cant seem to find the answer to
why my clutch pedal engages when pedal is almost fully out?
the main problem with this is its very hard to get 1st and downshift form 3rd to 2nd

so far i have rebuilt gearbox(then i thought maybe i didn't do it correct) so i took it to link and they have rebuilt it 2 rebuilds and less than 100kms travelled
i have a new recoed tin master cylinder, pulled slave apart which looks sleeved with no scores and new rubber.
checked rubber pipe which is only a 2years old
even tried putting a small washer in slave cylinder so pushrod wont go fully in to get more throw
my throw arm is new, clevis pins are new
and of course i have bleed it a few times

any ideas before it get it towed away?

was the same amount taken off the lugs as was taken off the face of the flywheel and backing plate when machined?

please explain what you mean
i bought the flywheel of someone on here and it had been lightened
i got the back plate and clutch from link and they balanced it all and put it together
i did notice that on my clutch i have about 6 spacers in order to get the flywheel straps level

roll pins seemed pretty tight
the little teeth where all rather good and still had the 2 angle points on them

my old std 2 piece flywheel only had 1 spacer to keep straps straight

do you think this could be the cause of my issues

i am not real good with understanding how the mini clutch system works
but i thought the only thing you needed to worry about was to have straps level in order to stop and clutch judder

Have you checked the bore diameter of the Master Cylinder? (should be 0.75").

Also, you may require a shim spacer under the Master Cylinder. To check for that, when the pedal is up, does the pedal bottom out in the bulkhead section of the body or does is bottom out on the Master Cylinder travel?

Also could be worth check the floor has not been pushed out of shape from a previous accident. I've found a few like that.

Are your Primary Gear Bushes a bit tight? Do you have enough clearance on the idler gear?

Have you check the 'wok' for cracks and splits and are all the bolts in it?

The little 'plunger' shaft that the thrust bearing fits on to, have you checked that it is not worn where the throw out arm engauges in to it?

Have you had someone actuall check / measure how much movement you are getting out of the throw out arm when the pedal is depressed? and I take it that it is actually adjusted correctly?
