were clubby engines painted in that ugly blue colour? or did they come with other options? just wondering before i hit mine with paint |

The 1100 from 73 to 75 was painted blue, I have no idea what the paint code is but I,d like to know. The 998 from 75 to 78 was painted black. I don't have a photo but I have seen a very neat 75 Mini S with a black engine bay and the block/ gearbox in Gun-Metal Grey , radiator top tank same color. No bling just neat and tidy. . |

yeah meeni has black with dark grey.. the engine in the clubby is blue and it looks original and is an 1100 so im assuming its a pre 75 |

You know what they called the blue colour for the engines? Remember it was the early 70s when every colour had a funky name like Hairy Lime, Am Eye Blue, Bold As Brass and Lone O'ranger. So guess what they called the engine blue? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Blue. 
What an imagination they must have had.

The bad news it that for some reason Dulux does not list the engine colours in the book. So it may be hard to get soemone to mix it. |

It would be near enough for my liking. The blue engines was a Leyland thing. They wanted the whole range to have one colour, then came the Marina with the Red Six engine.

After some last minute work done at Link before the Asparagus Job they put that Ford Blue on but I would really prefer to get the original Leyland Dulux Blue back on.
