Post subject: | 13" Wheel question? |
I have a set of 13x7" wheels and I know I need to cut away the front guards to avoid fouling the guard but do I need to cut away the top of the rear wheel arch to avoid fouling? I noted that the previously fitted 12x6" wheel had been fouling on the top of the rear wheel arches. I will be fitting wide flares and can therfore hide any cutting and joining. |

If you are often fowling on the top of the rear arch with the 12's you probably need to wind the hilo's up. |

I run 13x7s and have cut the front guards, but have no problems with the rears. Car is quite low at the front, and a little low at the rear. |

I would rather have it low than have to "wind up the Hi-Los" How hard is it to "tub" the rear wheel arches? |

Can you weld? If you can its cut around the wheel well into the quarter panel your desired shape, then either fold the metal in the wheel well up and weld to the bottom of the quarter panel then trim the protruding edge back to stock length to give something to put arches on. You could also cut the wheel well to suit the quarter panel and then weld a plate to join the two (that method is in how to modify your mini, but the pictures and details are kind of hard to follow). |

That method sounds like it might work OK. |
