3.647:1 diff, RE282 cam. Mk2 S gearbox.
Wheelspin (even with A008s) off the line is a problem, I should have left the 3.44 in.
<edit> If I take off gently then nail it, the tyres just break traction at 4500 rpm... and keep spinning. So I short shift into 2nd.

3.44 with a Kent MD296SPMB cam in a 1430cc stroker.

Mind you, with 13x7s it makes it a bit tall for the track (mostly in 3rd around Barbagello) but good for the road. Gives good top end speed - got up to 185kph at the Collie hillclimb.

3.44

But to be honest if running a super powerful engine (100 bhp+) and not racing, running a taller diff for better highway cruising is a good modern day compromise... But I am happy with 3.44

3.44 diff on the end of a 1098 +60 RE13 cam and a HIF44. Head is a 202 but its shaved to the max but a 3.6 diff would have been much more exciting. Its a Daily drive for the wife so its perfect and have no troubles in all conditions. but for a 1098 its almost 50BHP

Presently building a 998 block with a 1098 crank Cam will be a RE83, 202 head tickled slightley and a 1 1/2 carb but it will have a 3.6 diff

Ill get them both above 50 Bhp with a bit of help

3.44 in a hot 1380.... 4000-4500 on the highway hurts my ears, but i wouldn't change it

3.2 with RE 266 , 1360 A+, 12X5 rims.

3rd gear , pulls from 50 through to 115.

Approx 3100rpm = 100km/h - Very nice cruiser as thats what I chose the diff for.

Engine is 1300+ Crow Cams grind (big but not undriveable  ), cooper "S" ratio's in gearbox, with a 3.44:1 diff . . . Mines not going yet but I have built an engine very much the same that is in a moke (its the last one of these spec engines I built) with std 4 synchro g.box and 4.2:1 diff with 13" wheels and it goes like a rocket :!: :D
