Hi Everyone,

I'm getting through the items for my roadworthy here and one item was a loose nut on the tie rod end.
Wheel off the ground, move it from left to right, you can the bolt move within the steering arm.
Trying to tighten it, it spins in the joint!
Tried to get multi-grips to hold it (under the rubber jacket) and it can't be gripped to turn the nut.

Any ideas on how to get this tight? Better still, it may be a pain to remove if the steering arm in now worn that joint out.

put a jack under it.

As the good Doctor said, get a jack under your tie rod and jack it up into the steering arm, theyre a tapered fit and sometimes they need a bit of persuasion to stay in there

Just before you do do that, just pull it apart again and check that the hole hasn't elongated. Probably be OK, but it'll only take a minute to check. Be sure to use a nyloc nut.

I couldn't loosen it for the same reason I couldn't tighten it.
It has removed all movement and I'll re-inspect it in a week or so to make sure.
