Hope all have been well and enjoying the new year so far. After five years volunteering, I was hired by my fire department in November. A very nice change--great schedule, great benes, and a paycheck for the first time in eight years.
So the '70 S has been on hold in the garage for a while now, and it looks like perhaps it will be next in line when Mark's '66 S is complete. Will see.
Anyway, I was getting ready to take the '70 over to the president of the Seattle Area Mini Owners for a once-over, and it decided not to start anymore. This car has always started easily, and it doesn't even catch now. Very strange. Plenty of good gas (just added last week), brand new AGM battery, brand new Yokohama A008s that really want to be run in.
So, back to basics I guess--fuel/spark/oxygen. Will keep you posted as things slowly progress. For now, I need to focus on my scuba skills for next week's Hawaii trip. Not to mention proper technique raising a coconut porter while sitting on the beach.
Talk soon,
bmc
