Hi guys,
Finally got the mini out on the road the other night and was all going fine. then... a problem!
when i am driving and rev it past 3000rpm it coughs and splatters like its overfueling or something!! doesnt matter what gear or speed. any suggestions on what it could be? i just have the original single su carby in the car. cheers cam :)

Could possibly be plug gaps are way too big, ive seen this b4

oh k. i replaced the spark plugs not long ago...wat should the gap be? cheers mate

Gap should be 0.025" for a ignition system running points (i.e. an original type setup).

All new plugs that you buy these days are set up for electronic ignition systems which provide a much stronger and bigger spark and so it is able to jump a larger distance.

New plugs are gapped to 1.1mm. I always gap my plugs to 0.025" and have never had a problem.
