When are channel ten going to show the Group N support races? Those guys at 10 have got the coverage all wrong. Who wants to see one make racing? Not me! Stuff those Aussie go carts too. So if you want to see the real racing with cars that YOU can relate to like Monaros, Falcons, Mustangs, Toranas, Cortinas and of course Minis. Please get in conact with channel Ten and say Give us Group N. After all Historic racing has a very large following already and gaining popularity all the time. [email protected] RPM c.o. Historic racing??? ![]() To me, a regulated one-make-series is what seperates the the REAL racers from the chequebook racers. Those Aussie Racers are f**cking BRILLIANT. Best thing ive ever seen. Would love to buy one and race in the series, but that would require me selling my minis to fund it. mmmmm .... maybe I should ![]() |

I have a pile of stoved in Mini doors and front guards to support that Historic Racing is DEFINATELY NOT Sunday driving!! Sure the guys with the million dollar Maserati's etc don't drive 10 tenths but Group N definately do! HRS |

Australian Touring Car Challenge (ATCC) will now been shown on Speedweek (SBS) on Sunday week at midday. They have scheduled 30 mins of coverage covering all 3 races from the weekend. Next meeting is the ATCC at Mallala on the same weekend as the above mentioned TV coverage. Then the ANZAC weekend there is the Touring Car Festival that was scheduled for January but held over till the 24th at Oran Park. This meeting will ba an all Touring Car meeting with Groups A and C headlining the programme. |

OK last weekend...car #79 the ex-Holgersonn Mini...substantial clout in the drivers door...the whole skin was bashed in about 6cm...8cm another Mini shears hub, wheel studs or somesuch...and Minilite beats it to the corner...prolly ground down a disk and lower ball joint in the process...tilt tray takes it away Charles loses his rear bumper after a tap!! mildly amusing to see the tiny Mini bumper swinging off one bolt for a lap... Barrie bent a valve and pushrod!! Changed the head over in the break and ran two more events at the hairpin....two Minis come together...John Battersby ends up rolling drivers side door down....difficulty getting out of passengers door ...Mini taken away on Tilt Tray....shell (sadly) looked like a write off Sunday driving......yeah right!! BTW Doc...your mate was there and seemed to have a good time tootling around ![]() |

still no group N. Bloody Chanel 10!! anyway some of the best racing I've seen has been in the group N catergory. I remember Ken Nelson dicing with a Mustang at Queensland Raceway. Man that WAS good. Ken would get him under brakes and around corners and the Mustang would fly by on the straights. It is hardly Sunday driving. Get out and have a look. One make series suck, the supa cars are just about one make now aren't they? Seems like they try to make them as similer as possible. The real test of a drivers skill is dealing with slower cars in other classes. Drivers like Moffat, Brock, Harvey, Perkins, Johnson, Bartlett will always be better drivers than these TV show ponies that go around in the supacar series. |

What you say is mostly true but why won't people come out to see the spectacle that is Historic racing? Poorly advertised as it is....I think people are largely conditioned to go where everybody else does and that means the events with the biggest advertising budgets.... ![]() |
