I notice that you can buy front camber kits with either 1.5 or 2.0 degrees.

What should I go with?

I have no idea if going from 1.5 to 2.0 degrees makes that much difference?!

It's for road and occasional track use.

Why not consider adjustable lower arms, that way you can set what camber you want, also allows for any differences in subframe geometry to be corrected. Might also be worth getting adjustable castor arms as well.

If you buy from Minispares UK there is a kit for both adj arms and castor bars, with or without rear camber adjustable brackets.
Cheapest way to get them.

when i set mine up with ivan at mini spares and repairs as he has all the gear (fast road car, maybe some track action) he recomended half a degree all around, 3.5 - 4 castor on the front (via adjustable tie bars).

He reckoned he only ran half a degree or not much mroe on his race car. So i accepted this as good enough... They are good handling cars, rather than doing anything radical i feel the best way is to tweak the suspension so its accurate.

It was apain doing castor and camber, lot of fiddling as one changes the other. We ended up with 3/4 degree negative on my car and 3.5 degrees castor before we gave up.

It was about 1 degree on the rear, ivan wasn't happy with this stating it would add to UNDERsteer. but i couldn't get any less, i had to file the adjustable brackets heaps just to get that

Thats my experience anyway.

Actually the kits from Huddersfield are easier to use, stronger and cheaper :wink:

Just remember that a -2 degree camber gives you 2 degrees more negative camber than you had. So if the subframe/shell isnt square then you wont have both sides balanced.

So go adjustables.

+ 1 here and also remember that ride height also has an influence on front camber angles.

So which kit is recommended, as there's two types of lower arms:

Huddersfield Spares:

Minispares:

I have rear camber brackets and adjustarides, but would like to add adjustable lower arms before I get it certified. The Minispares lower arms appeal as they look mechanically simpler and stronger, but that's from a layman's point of view.

The MiniSpares lower arms are forged and look lots like factory items, so if you're getting inspected there's a much better chance you'll not require engineering on them. The Huddersfield ones scream ADJUSTABLE!!!, so good luck with those ;)
