Is there supposed to be a rubber seal around them? I never took any off when I removed the handles from the door? If there isn't, wouldn't Water enter through the Handle surround? There is a seal available for around the door lock.. |

No there is no gasket but there used to be a black sealant around the edge. |

put some sealant on the door, let it dry, then fit the handle, and then cut away the excess. |

I'm pretty sure when I pulled the handles out of mine to have the car repainted that the sealant there was a Mastic type of sealant, not a Silicone sealant. Don't use silicone unless you want it to rust out. The Mastic stuff, from what I understand forms a dry skin on the outside but stays flexible and waterproof on the inside. Anyone else with more info? Cheers, Watto. |
