http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Mini-Moke-1980-C ... 2a03c7221e

Hmmmmmm.... now,,, last time I checked, Californians had the "Californian" bull bars, not the pussy bar,, They had Sunraisers NOT rims,... Wrong steering wheel,,, the only thing Californian about it is the SEATS!!!!

Its being sold as one of Australia's most original mokes... well lets see what else is wrong with it then

-Instrument cluster's been painted black FAIL
-top of dash painted black FAIL
-Aftermarket $10 SuperSteap Mirrors FAIL
-Oxygen pump removed FAIL
-Wrong heater ducut hosing FAIL
-1980 Californians Had ROLL CAGES factory FAIL
-The Sh1t grip and Mirror brackets are painted Black FAIL
.
.
.
The Guy wants how much? $25,000?

It doesn't even have a Hood! Its only a 998,, the paint looks like sh1t,, It has no rego

And he wants how much!!!!?????

.
.
.

Get a freakin Clue!!!!!!!

I reckon in all fairness,, maybe as much as $9-10k.... but $25k... get real, I'd want a 100% original show winning car for that.... its not in bad nick, but its not in $25k condition... get real...!!!

Oh,, silly me,, how could I miss the "Leyland Moke" complience plate  I should have picked that up

I can't believe the money the dude is asking,,,

Do you remember when that GT that was in TME came up on ebay? It PASSED IN at $20,000.00 so how this guy reckons he can get $25,000 for a base model moke that isn't in average to reasonable condition beats me.

Pretty sure they dropped the 'Californian' from the compliace plate when they went to the Galvanised Bodies.....

Dear pos025, you mention that the Moke is in factory new condition, yet many items on the car have been changed:
-Instrument cluster's been painted black
-Top of dash painted black
-Aftermarket mirrors
-Oxygen pump removed
-Wrong heater ducut hosing
-1980 Californians Had roll cages factory
-The handles and Mirror brackets are painted Black

Don't mistake what i am saying for me flaming you, but if you are going to advertise a car as completely original, it ought to be.
On top of that, you are asking $25 000 for the car, when for that money one would expect a show winning car, yet this is in no where near that condition.
I am not sure whether you read 'The Mini Experience' (Australian mini magazine), but there was a Leyland 1275 GT in ACTUAL factory condition, and it sold on ebay for $20 000.

The car in it's current altered state should only be worth $10-12000, whereas you are asking twice that.

I think you should seriously rethink your price.

i sent this earlier today

"I am surprised that you are trying to sell a Leyland Moke under false pretences. This is NOT a californian. It is a straight Leyland Mini Moke. Californians have four seats, a proper font bull bar, a proper floor cover not poolside slip grip mats, too many things that are not right on this sale. Value of around 5-6000 not 25,000."

And i got this reply

"Thats your opinion, Get a Life."

So i replied with this

"At least its an Educated opinion. You should learn more about what you are trying to sell and stop lying to buyers. This is NOT a california moke, it is missing many of the extras that these mokes had on from factory. All you have is a Leyland Moke, and a 998 at that, its not a 1275. It is worth 5-6000 dollars, you shouldnt lie to buyers. Complaints can be made to ebay and the australian consumer bodies with relation to selling classic vehicles."

Drexxle , you're description of a Californian Moke is also flawed so you've probably only confused the seller further , my '81 Californian moke is only complied as a 2 seater and has the same matting (or very similar at least) from new .
