Hi folks, just hoping if anyone can shed some light on a Mini that my uncle sold about 10 or so years ago - it is an 850 shell with very-not-standard everything else! Has a pretty distinctive colour scheme and dashboard, from what I've heard it may be running around with a Victorian Mini Club member. Last rego I know of was WK998 - but that was a personalized plate so it could be different now. ![]() ![]() My uncles Warwick Knight & Bruce Knight were heavily involved with the Vic Mini Club in the late 80's / early 90's - I think Bruce may have been Vice Pres at one stage, and Warwick ended up marrying Jocelyn Baker (aka Midge Baker, daughter of the then President Alan Baker). Alas my Brother and myself are now the only ones in the family to own Minis! Warwick spent years building the car, had to sell due to family priorities - would be great to know what it is up to these days! Thanks in advance! |

Hi David, I think it was up for sale recently, i.e. in the last year, but I can't remember where. I couldn't find it in any of the VMCI magazines, so it may just have been something that came up in conversation. If you haven't already, give Bryan Pope at Link Auto a call. I think he got the RWC for it when Warwick sold it (I happened to be there when he dropped it off and had a chat to Warwick) and may know who it went to or what has happened since. If I remember I'll ask around at the VMCI meeting tonight. |

Hi David, I thought that Midge and Alan were brother & sister? Anyway, I've got a couple of photos of Warwick's car taken back in the late eighties if you want me to post up. Not sure if its the same car as it is painted dark green. I know he got hit pretty hard in the drivers side during a six hour relay race at Winton, so not sure if its the same car. Steve |

Oops - I think you may be right Steve ![]() As for the cars, he did have a couple of clubbys back then - don't think it would be the same car because it was sold within the last 10 years. Any 80's photos would be most welcome! And good ammunition for when we're next over there! ![]() |

Sorry about the quality. I only have a crappy scanner at work Here is your Uncle Warick at a car display in one of the Malls in Melb, organised by the MCCV ![]() And here he is competing at the Avalon Autocross track. I assume Lindsey Fox is still trying to close the complex down? We use to do a lot of Motorkhanas in the MCCV. Was taken around 1990 sometime. ![]() |

Avalon is still alive and kicking, despite Lindsay Fox's best efforts. |

Its unfortunate that the Mullet looks like its making a come back. Was never a good look. The words Mullet and bogan always went together. |
