I just realised my motorcycle rego plates can be interpreted as a abbreviation for the Morris Mini!

Dunno why it took me so long, but the plate starts off with MO (short for Morris?) and ends with 66 (my mini is a 1966 model), is a total coincidence.
Bought the bike off a guy in 2007 and he personalised the plates for totally different reasons.

My question is: Can I transfer my plates onto my 1966 Mini? And would I be able to transfer my present car plates onto the bike?

Amazed it took me so long to realise this!!

give the transport department a ring and ask them. if they are personalised plates then i dont see why you cant do what you want with them. i swapped mine from my old car to my new car

I know someone with the same plates on his ute and on his Harley.

The Harley has black on yellow XX.123 format and his ute has white on black XX.123. (not the real numbers, just an example.)

If NSW is like Victoria, bike plates are a separate register to cars, meaning you could conceivably have the same number on a bike as on a car, but you can't transfer one to the other.

See whats on offer at the RTA. Apparently the dealers up here recently had NSW premium plates to issue and the prefix just happened to be BMC
