The calipers are meant to be fitted with the bleed nipples "on top" of tha calipers , so i hope you have that part right for starters???

2ndly, the rear wheel cyls should be the smaller 5/8ths" in diam type , as the rear of a cooper "S" has,,, another hole needs to be drilled on the oposite side of the cyls for the locating roll-pin

But if you have a poor peddle "feel" as in it`s spongey &/or low,,, then you have air &/or adjustment issues in the rear brakes,,, or maybe very spongey hoses

there are more "possible" issues but that lot should be good for starters,,, yeah?

gday everyone! i have recently done a disc brake conversion on my mini (7.5 inch kit from minisport), but cant get good pressure in the pedal. do i need to change or modify the rear drums in anyway? or is it a problem with the master cyllinder? or something else that i may have overlooked? this is the last thing i need to do before she gets on the road for the first time in 8 years!!

You do need to change the rear wheel cylinders to 5/8" bore, but this is un-likely to have much to do with your poor pedal. When you say it's poor, do you mean spongie, or does it go down a long way? Some new pads have a spongie feel abaout them until they bed in, although with new discs they should be OK from the outset. Cars fitted with the 7.5" discs from the factory were also fitted with a booster. Some don't use them, but IMO you do need one.

Cheers for the help! By poor pedal, I mean that it goes to the floor untill it has been pumped 10 or 15 times. I have bled all the brakes, put brand new hoses on each brake and adjusted the rear drums. So I rekon changing the rear cyllinders will be my next job!

Err no..... Hahaha my bleed nipples are at the bottom I'll swap them round n see if it helps at all! I'm glad I'm not the only one who has done this mini-dunger! Haha
