A small part of what you were saying could be solved with saying "the more liquids, the more pressure, the faster the flow. Less liquids equals less flow.
But I would do what the others said anyway!

Pulled the right hand tank out of my Gt the other day and had 21yr old fuel in it and drained it and washed it out with water. When full of water the tank will pour out the bottom (where the linking pipe connects) as if no restriction but when it gets down to about 1/2 or 1/3 full the flow reduces dramatically to like a trikle or nothing. it should pour out no matter what the level shouldnt it? I will have another look at it tommorrow but thats what it was doing Is there any fuel filter thing in these similar to those found in left tanks, and if so will sulfuric acid do any damage to this as i was going to chuck some in it and see how it went? |

There is a brass? mesh on the end of the pipe in the tank. I hammered a drill bit into mine to fix the problem after I rust converted it. Then I put a filter before the pump. |

I would try thinners/carby cleaner. It will dissolve the crud in the tank. I would not use acid in the tank just yet. |

I have the same problems with my Cooper S tanks. I may take a look at them tomorrow. |

Righto thanks for your reply... Thinners sound a better idea than acid. Yeah if you have success morris let me know what you did. i will let you know if it works, if i get round to it tommorow. Cheers |
