Bingo.
I assembled the engine 3 years ago, it's done Hay twice and another khana and now decided to come undone.
Yesterday i drove it 20ks to work which only happens once a week, changed the oil, adjusted the brakes, lubed the nipples and had a little look over, washed it, put it out the front, went to leave and noticed a highly unusual rattle/scrape noise. I'm bloody lucky it happened at work where i have access to a hoist and everything needed to fix it.

Bin that washer, put Loctite 262 on the bolt threads, torque it up to 75lb/ft and Bob's yer uncle.
Before you do this though, wiggle the harmonic balancer. If it's moving on the key, it and the key should be replaced. I put a bit of Loctite on the crank and key before fitting.

Once it's all back together again check the clutch overthrow adjustment and also try the crank for movement ;)

Saw a 998 clubman recently, same prob, but someone had done the bolt back up with one of those impact spanner things that you put on and hit with hammer. they must of hit it a bit hard, they broke the crank.
So now its got an 1100 in it.
