My Dad just sold his Land Rover with the intention of licensing and doing up his rough clubman as a daily driver. Well it's been 3 weeks and he's now realised he needs a daily driver instead of getting lifts. We're going to look at this '74 or '77 (he's forgotten what the bloke said) clubman tommorow:

I've done some research on what problems to look out for, but was just wondering if there is any particular problems with this year model. Apparently it's in pretty original condition with only a tiny bit of rust( everyone says that) but the paint is faded. Whats the average price for a car like that?

price depends on what the previous owner has/ hasn't done to it.

the owner may say the brakes work and all, but the hoses or cylinders may not have been changed in the 33 years it's been around, so it will be case of when they're going to fail not if.

purely going off that picture and depending where the rust is, the max i would pay would be $2 500.

looks like a nice little car - sitting very low though, you may find it has hydro suspension, which is a good thing ;)

What should we look out for if it has hydro suspension? How can you tell the condition it's in? We know sweet F A about hydrolastic suspension.

'74 or '77 wouldn't have hydro (as standard anyway). More than likely it is on rubber with old compressed rubber

Hub caps are cheap, and they are not clubman hub caps, that being said it does not look to bad.
Looks more like a 74 to me than a 77, what size engine has it got??

cars like this pop up quite often. Depending on the condition it could be worth anywhere between $1500 and $7000. judging by the pics I would probably say about $3000, depending on;
- rego
-whats been done/what needs to be done
-rust

They are the right hubcaps for a 74 or 77 Leyland Mini. :wink:
