Post subject:  Clutch side engine steady bush

The rear bush in mine is no longer there so I am wondering if I'll have enough space to get the stepped rod (that goes in the centre) out if I take out the clutch and brake clevis pins and lift the master cylinders up (without disconnecting the brake and clutch lines).

I would like to avoid bleeding the brakes and clutch. So...is this even possible? Will I be able to get enough movement this way?

Cheers, Nick

Yes you will.
These things are a PITA, I use a bush and a bolt instead.

ditto - I'd never seen the stepped bolt until a few years ago when I pulled one out of a car and thought "what a stupid idea that one is" and chucked it over my shoulder

All done guys. Even easier than what I thought. Plenty of room to get it out and back in (I love having small hands for getting clevis pins & split pins in and out  )
