Are they supposed to be the same (standard).... Or..... Like mine, the one that I have pulled out of my 998 seems to have a bigger lift with a longer duration (only measured with verniers because that's all I got). I'm guessing if the 998 cam does have the higher, longer lift then that would be the one to use if I decide to stroke the motor. Obvious yes? It's late and I'm tired and I'm not really sure which way is up right now. So help please. Thanks esteemed mini peoples.

All A series 998 cams (except the 998 Cooper one) have only .285" lift at valve. 1098 cams have .312", also more duration. The only good use for a 998 cam is for regrinding to something decent. 
If your 998 one has more lift, it may have been reground already. |
