Hhhmmm ,,, thoughts from an old thread about American Racers come to mind
I suppose i`d have to say that it would depend on a couple of things-->
firstly--> which tyres suit your cars "set-up" at the moment,,, that is how the springs & shocks & wheel-alignment all react together to the 2 different tyres,,,
The hoosier likes the setting "straight-up-&-Down" ,, as in no camber at all (canvas bag with very strong side walls) where-as the Yoko will like some camber (probably 2 deg-ish)
& 2ndly,, what your driving style is... do you like chucking it around & sliding a bit? then the Hoosier is probably the go,,, if you like the car to stick to the corners & drive for the grip/traction --> then the yokos are probably better suited
i prefer the Hoosiers,,, i like the "feel" ,,,& i like to throw the car around a fair bit,
For example,,, i was in my green roady cooper "S" with Hoosiers & only .03 of a sec off Stephen Hoads time in his lightweight 1380cc sports sedan on 13" slicks at Grafton hillclimb one meeting quite a few years ago,,,
but i have spent a whole heap of time on them compared to the Yokos,,, but i`ve also spent a fair bit of time on the yokos & i reckon they`re a "GREAT" tyre,,, but you do need to have the car set-up for them & you shouldn`t be throwing the car around too much with them,,, they like to be driven with traction being the main aim,,, no throwijng the car sideways & sliding them around,,, they don`t like that.
