Post subject: | Help needed with accommodation in NSW for MOTOREX |
Can anyone in NSW help me with some advice on accommodation close to or somewhere I can use transport to - to get to the Main Exhibition Halls, Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush Bay, Sydney I was thinking of coming up for Motorex which is being held on 3rd/4th July. I am looking for cheap but good accommodation if that is possible. Wondering if you have the Forumla 1 Motels up there. I would need room for 2 adults and 2 children (7 & 11). |

Jan there is a Formula One motel which is on the Great Western Highway at Wentworthville. It sits right next to the Cumberland highway entry/exit of the M4 which leads from Western Sydney into the City. If you stayed there you can zip straight down the M4 and exit at homebush bay......prob a 10-15 minute drive if that. |

Thanks for that info. Just realised that it wouldn't work staying at a Formula One because their rooms are for three or two people. I will have four so I would need two rooms which brings the cost to probably the same as one room at a normal motel. Any ideas? |

Post subject: | Hotels |
There are at least three hotels right next to the venue. Novotel (Homebush Bay) and Ibis both owned by the Accor group, not sure of the third one (they change their names so often, we sydneysiders can't keep track!). Both are really nice (I've stayed in both as it happens). The Ibis is the cheaper end of the market, but is quite pleasant. As someone suggested, check online direct with the hotels and also lastminute. The Formula1 at Wenty costs $59/night from memory (go past it quite often but never stayed in one). There are heaps of motels in Parramatta as someone suggested. It is also quite convenient to the M4. KB |

I am just waiting some info on Motorex to arrive so that I can decide whether to enter. Once I have confirmed this I will take a look at the site for accommodation. Thanks to everyone for all their help. It's always good to know if anyone else has stayed at these places. |

Thanks for the offer. I will only be coming if I am bringing a mini, as the point is to enter in the MOTOREX show. I have sent an email to the organisers enquiring but as yet haven't heard back from them. Can't do much till I do. Will keep you all informed. |

Well my application forms are on their way from Sydney and have taken a look at a few maps. Planning to stay at the Best Western at Lidcombe. According to my maps I wouldn't be very far away from the venue. Their website says 10 mins on train from Lidcombe station to Olympic Park station. Does this sound right? Anybody know how far from Olympic Park station to actual venue? Thanks |

Exit Olympic Park Station, walk about 10/15 paces, turn right, another 10/15 paces ![]() The station is right next to the venue. Couldn't be easier. Lidcombe is very close too, but you won't be doing much sight-seeing.....it's a hole! (I bought my daily driver car from Lidcombe Motors.... ![]() |

If I do come and my car is in the show I won't have time for tourist things. We will drive up on Friday set up Friday night and the car will be locked in the show all weekend til Sunday night. Leave again Monday morning. Doesn't leave much time for anything. |
