Are the speedo cables for the 850 - centre speedo same length as the Moke centre speedo?

Good - thanks for that. I was about to throw the old 850 outer casing out and admiring how robust and well made it was compared to the modern piece of shite that I got as a replacement. The only thing wrong with it is the plastic(?) covering is brittle and split in a couple of places exposing the spiral metel inards and hence dirt and crap can get into the inner. Had a thought that a piece of heat shrink tubing might provide a new cover- have some that will fit - just not long enough so I'll buy some more and give it a try. Then I'll have a new cable for the Moke when I need it

8)

Yeah, we do the same. Go for the thin heatshink and without glue (so they stay flexible). We also do the same with the throttle cables and more importantly, the choke cables (even the new ones) as they are quite dangerous considering they run so close to the starter solenoid terminals.
