anyone have this set up?

is it hard to drive? traffic highway? overheat much?

i really like the 3.1 was hoping that with the re13 would be a wicked conversion..

you all swear by this cam so let me have your thoughts.

IMO a 3.1 would be great in a 1275 with RE13.
I have a 3.44 in the stroker (RE13), I'd fit a 3.1 if I had one.

depends on the car, the way you drive, and where you drive...

it'd be lovely on the open road, but I reckon it'd be a pain in traffic - I have a 3.4, and normally when traffic is crawling along I'm idling in 2nd gear and it's comfortable, with a 3.1 you'd be in 1st with more revs, or in 2nd and stalling.....

now correct me if I'm wrong here, but...

the RE13 is more of a high revving cam (compared to GR's other cams), tall diff ratios aren't for high revving.

I was using an RE13, but after talking it through with GR, I went with a different one. My rev limiter is set at 6500, which is enough for me and what I do. The only benefit the RE13 has over my current cam is more performance over 6500 - so don't need it

I *think* my cam is an RE83 - it wasn't named when I got it

RE83 might be more for me.. the re13 & 3.4...
do you need to rev the guts out of it to get going?

im not doing over 6500rp it's just an everyday car.

the 3.1 is great for the highway though but my cam is poor.

what you should do is ring GR and tell him who you are, how you drive, the sort of driving you do, what your car is like now, what you'd like it to be like, and he'll recommend something

They are both great cams. But the RE13 has more upper midrange and top end. RE83 pulls like a train down low (which is why Simon likes it for `khanas).
No you don't have to rev it to get an RE13 off the line.

I have an RE282 and 1.5 rockers (MUCH cammier) in mine, and it'll pull from below 2000 in 4th at light throttle. Not bad considering the 45 Dellorto has 38mm chokes in it....

I agree with Simon, ring GR.
