Idiot driver didn't see me stoped, waiting to turn. Ran straight into the back of me doing 70km @ which I had the brakes on. Was sent to hospital with neck and back injuries, and have only just got out today, still wearing a neck brace and in alot of pain. Can type alot on here, as im in alot of pain still, but thought i would share the jist of it. Police got involved and wasnt my fault. Major damage to the car, both at the back, fuel tank leaked everywhere, i couldnt get out of the car door was jamed, hand brake was ripped out, not sure how, dash came flying out at me after it was wedged it by myself months ago with difficulty, and my drivers seat as you can see has be serveral disloadged camparted to the passengers. Was shunted bout 20 metres @ which I had the brakes on. ****ing idiot behind me was brainless. 50km zone, go firgure aye.... Insurance called is a write off, of which was obvious to me b4 the ambos took me away and fire brigage covered my car in foam. 10 towys at me, wasant nice one bit. They gave me crap all as usual tried to fight it as much as I could, got the car back, and made some sort of a deal, but its going to be alot of work to get sorted. Wont be doing anything for a while tho, says doctor, my neck is imbolised ![]() the whole front floor of the drivers side is crushed hard underneath the pedals, where my feet got stuck. Pics dont do it justice. Also the brand new extractors only just put on less than a week ago, are now cracked, from the shunt the exhust took ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Mate that's rough. I hope you have no long term problems. Cars can be repaired / re-built or bought again. |

Lockie Get well as quick as you can, the Mini can wait. Think about Yourself at this time not your drive...you can't drive it anyway Your body is your temple and a Mini is just a car in the long run ![]() |

crap man, thats no good. Look after yourself first, remember you are number 1, minis come second. Drivers like that need to go through a re-education system back onto their learners again to drill in the point again ![]() |

![]() Thats crap news mate! what have the insurance offered you? Hope you get on the mend soon! PICS POSTED UP. $1000 thats it. They weren't happy with it in there yard, leaking fuel everywhere, (danger and all) and needed it out today or else they take it or something stupid and becuase I was in hospital i couldn't have any control over it. There was no rust in the car what so ever, just the paint was faded. Has just spent $300 on the exhaust 2 days proir, and $200 on a dellorta carby and manifold, plus tuning costs. Wasant happy at al. But im in so much pain atm and worrying about it all, i couldn't do much but accept, cos it had to be out. Stinging me basaically they were. I also am glad the spare tyre was in there, as i think it took some shock out of the impact as it was jamed in there. My extractors are also cracked from the impact the exhuast took from the rear as you can see. Hate to think wat else damage was done to the car. Im really hoping I can get some sort of man power in brissy or something to get my car swaped over with bits or something i dunno yet. Funny enough I have a spare boot, fuel tank, rear bumper, tail light that is broken, and boot hinges, but because there is so much damage to the rear floor and the back part of the car im neva going to get it anywhere near to fit. Plus the side panel damage has most likely put the car out of wak. :'( And the hand brake, being ripped outta the floor i'll neva know how that happened, cos it was fine wen i left im sure, toweys i guess, i know they r rough on mini's hate them, but wen im forced into an ambo, i had no choice ![]() |

damn - dickheads..... but rest up, take your time and make sure your neck and back are fixed properly I can't believe the other driver was doing 70 - there is really not that much damage. I'd be getting it measured up and you might need it stretched a little bit on the left hand side, but I bet it's still straighter than a lot of cars on the road. If it's classed as a 'repairable write off' then I say have a go at fixing it, at least enough to keep it as a runabout hack will be interesting to see photos of the firewall where your feet bent it |
