I just brought myself a pair of Bridgestone 165/70's for my clubbie and so far their goin great, but as I always do before I buy something for my Mini I consulted this site. To my surprise I found not much on Tyres, their was a lot on tyre sizes but not much on brands and which are the best brands to go for, and which ones actually make tyres small enough for Minis.
Im sure there might be a post on the site that answers my question but it probably didn't come up on my search cos I used the Australian spelling which is 'Tyres' not 'Tires' but I can see how people can get confused because of all the american tv we watch.
So what type of tyres do you use, and what do you think are the best?

Tried most available 10" ones on Ha-ha- for the road, I reckon Yokohama A008s are best if you want grip, wet or dry. Yeah they do wear a bit quicker, but it's worth it.

<edit> Barney's running Bridgestone 10" SF226s.. they are a good all round tyre, not too bad in the wet either. And they're cheap. :D

12" x 165 Yokohama 539's, same tread pattern as the Yokohama 539's I have on my other car and they have done a great job. Good grip wet and dry, better than previous tyres Ive used. ie Kumho Supa Ecstas are absolute crap, the most dangerous tyre Ive ever used.

The Bridgy 165's were a good tyre though, never had a problem with them.

Continental's on mutant, Bridgestone on hubbie's Rover and my Rover has Symes or Simes (can't remember).

Only one I wouldn't get again is the Symes/Simes.

Others are great.

I like the old school look so I've got 10 X155 X80 R69s Michelins (made in france no less) - I have had falkens in the past and can not tell the difference. :)
